Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has announced a $10 million support package for Ukrainian residents.
Therefore, any user who created an account on the exchange before March 9 will receive $1,000 in Bitcoin (BTC). Funds can be traded immediately after payment.
Kraken CEO Jesse Powell said: “Cryptocurrency is a very important tool, especially at a time when many people around the world are no longer dependent on banks and financial systems. More traditional commodities”.
As reported by Coin Telegraph, support packages will be distributed throughout the year, offering different levels of support. This gives everyone in Ukraine time to complete Kraken’s KYC process.
Previously, on February 26, the Ukrainian government announced two crypto wallet addresses on its official Twitter account, calling on the community to donate. Of these, one only accepts Bitcoin (BTC) and the other accepts Ethereum (ETH) and Tether (USDT).
As of March 9, the total amount of cryptocurrency received by the two wallets has exceeded $108 million. This cryptocurrency is donated to support the Ukrainian military.
